First trained as a potter/sculptor at SUNY Brockport, and later at School of the Art Institute of Chicago. He immigrated to Israel in 1982 with his wife, Cynthia, where he worked as a carpenter and contractor. His two children were born there. While living in Jerusalem, Rob began his journey into woodworking that continues to this day. Rob has been building casework and furniture on Whidbey Island since 1987.
